Can I move my Pool Table myself?

Moving your Pool Table yourself can save some money. However, It can be a very expensive mistake. Pool Tables are extremely heavy and quite fragile. Each piece of slate can weigh up to 450lbs and can crack or chip easily. A well trained and experienced Pool Table mover can handle this safely, without damaging the Pool Table or themselves. When it's time to move your Pool Table, its best to not risk damaging the table or your back.

If I have my Pool Table moved does the cloth need to be replaced?

Most of the time the cloth can be re-used. That's is assuming the felt is in pretty good condition. Nicks or tears in the cloth can become much larger when the cloth has been re-stretched. A lot of times its not a bad idea to change the cloth. The Table is already apart and the cost of cloth is usually pretty reasonable. It also gives you a chance to change the color of the cloth to match the new room.

How often should I have my Pool Table Re-coverd?

It depends on how often the Pool Table is used and how well it is cared for. If your table is used several days a week then you might expect to re-cover or re-felt the table every three years. Brushing the Pool Table regularly and keeping it covered when not in use can extend the life of your cloth. If your Table is not used much, it can go many years without being re-covered.

How do I know if the Cushions need to be replaced?

Pool Table Cushions should last a very long time. Sometimes 20 years. Exposure to sunlight or low quality material can shorten the life of the cushion. A lot of times they go bad for no good reason at all. They just do. You can test your Cushions by shooting a ball at an angle to a rail. The ball should strike 3 or 4 rails before stopping. If you hear a "thunk" sound when a ball strikes a Cushion, it's time to replace it. The Cushions should feel soft and pliable. When the Cushions go bad they are hard as a rock.

What size room do I need for a Pool Table?

At the minimum, there should be 5 feet of clear space around the table. This space is enough for comfortably placing and stroking the cue. Therefore, the ideal space for your pool table should be at least 10 feet added on top of the table’s dimensions. Minimum room size listed below.

7 Foot Table = 13' 6" x 16' 8"
8 Foot Table = 13' 11" x 17' 4"
9 Foot Table = 14' 6" x 18' 4"
